The Edge Virtual Marketplace

 

Excitement is building as we get closer to launching The Virtual Marketplace, our integrated sourcing and ordering system. This is a game-changer for retailers and participating vendors alike.

 

The Edge Buying Tools help you build a more dynamic and profitable inventory by guiding you to buy the right products in the right quantities. Now, with The Marketplace, you can take it a step further.

 

With just one click, you’ll see product images that match your buying plan, backed by data from 4,000 stores highlighting the best sellers in every category. Simply select your items, drop them into a purchase order, and send them to vendors in seconds. When the invoice arrives, it will flow automatically into your inventory. 

Just 20 minutes a week is all it takes to fine tune your inventory.

 

Over time, you will systematically improve your inventory performance, helping you sell more with less investment, reduce old stock, and avoid missed sales opportunities.

 

We’re on track to launch in June. The biggest challenge has been normalizing vendor data—ensuring data integrity is critical for reliable reports and decision-making. We’ve started with a core group of vendors who sought us out, but we need a balanced mix across all merchandise categories and price points.

Newly Released Feature

 

🔹 Round-Up for Charity – We’ve added an optional round-up feature at POS in response to a request from Jewelers for Children. It rounds customer payments to the next dollar (e.g., $206.56 → $207). If 4,000 stores collected just $4–$5 a day, we could raise $4.8–$6 million annually for a great cause!

New Features Coming Soon

 

🔹 Automated Vendor Invoices – As a byproduct of building The Virtual Marketplace, we can now automate digital vendor invoice imports into The Edge.

🔹 In-Store Financing – Soon, you'll have a financing feature that increases the chances of customer approval. It automatically applies to multiple credit grantors, starting with the one offering the best rate.

 

What's Next?

✔  A Fresh UI – We’re updating The Edge’s user interface to make it cleaner and easier to navigate, ensuring that the most powerful features are more apparent and intuitive.

✔  Better Repair Take-In & Geller Pricing – We’re working on simplifying these processes, and I’m eager to push this project forward.

✔  Cloud Access – While The Edge remains a desktop-first system, we’re exploring a hybrid model for key features.

This is either out of ignorance or a deliberate attempt for them to gain what they think might be an advantage.
