The Edge can create lists of customers based on their purchase history. This can be useful for targeted marketing campaigns. This can be based on generic criteria, such as amount spent and date ranges, or it can include more specific item criteria.
This example will specifically target customers that have purchased an engagement ring but did not purchase wedding bands in the last month.
To create or export this list:
- Click Customer > Find.
- On the General tab, check the boxes for Preferred Contact Methods Only (Phone / Address / Email / Social).
- If you only want customers that have email addresses, type =ANY into the Email field. Likewise, if you only want customers that have addresses, type =ANY into the Address field.
- On the Results tab, set Addressee to Each Individually.
- On the Merchandise tab, click the Item Filter drop-down under Has Purchased at Least This Merchandise and select your Diamond Engagement Ring category. If you have these split between multiple categories, use the Category ID drop-down on the Item Details tab to select multiple. Then set Date Range to 30 Days.
- Below that, in the Has NOT Purchased at Least this Merchandise section, click the Item Filter drop-down and select your wedding band categories.
- Click OK to generate the list.
- You can right click here to immediately export OR use the Group / Mailing List button to create a new group or add them to an existing group.
NOTE: The Merchandise tab specifically filters based on item purchases while the Amt Spent tab looks at total spend regardless of transaction type.
