Best Practices


  • Install and configure the Server first, then the workstations.
  • Make sure all workstation computers are networked together, to the Server computer, as this is how your workstations access the database housed on the Server computer.
  • All computers must be running the same version of The Edge.  If you are installing a new workstation, consider which version to use:
    o    If you have many workstations already running, it may be more efficient to download an installer that matches your current version (bottom left of main Edge screen).
    o    If you are due to update anyway, you may wish to update all computers now (including the server) to the latest version.
     
  • Fully review the System Requirements document for hardware and software requirements. Failure to do so may cause errors preventing you from completing installation.
