This article describes the best practices for removing a divorced spouse. If this is a deceased spouse, see Customers: Remove Deceased Spouse for best practices.
To remove (unlink) a divorced spouse from a customer:
- Use Customer > Find to find and edit the primary customer.
- Click Supervisor > Remove Spouse.
- This will unlink and separate their records.
NOTE: Any open balances will remain with the primary customer.
To transfer a balance from the primary to the removed spouse:
- Use Customer > Find to find and edit the primary customer.
- Click on the Activity tab.
- For each balance you want to transfer locate the original sale, click See Sale to open the receipt, and use Supervisor > Change Customer to move it to the removed spouse.
