Customers: Remove Divorced Spouse


This article describes the best practices for removing a divorced spouse.  If this is a deceased spouse, see Customers: Remove Deceased Spouse for best practices.

To remove (unlink) a divorced spouse from a customer:

  1. Use Customer > Find to find and edit the primary customer.
  2. Click Supervisor > Remove Spouse.
  3. This will unlink and separate their records.

NOTE:  Any open balances will remain with the primary customer.

 

To transfer a balance from the primary to the removed spouse:

  1. Use Customer > Find to find and edit the primary customer.
  2. Click on the Activity tab.
  3. For each balance you want to transfer locate the original sale, click See Sale to open the receipt, and use Supervisor > Change Customer to move it to the removed spouse.
