Exporting Customers: List

To export a customer list to a CSV file:

  1. Click Customer > Find.  The Customer Find Filter will appear.
  2. Enter criteria and click OK to generate a list of customers.
  3. Right click inside the list and select Export.  The Export window will appear.
  4. Enter a File name and click Save.

Notes

  • If you are exporting for marketing purposes consider using the Export found under the Clientele menu.  See Clientele Export for more information.
  • You can use the text =ANY or =NONE in the Customer Find Filter to set conditions on your search.  For example, typing =ANY into the email field will only return customers that have an email address.  Typing =NONE into that field instead would only return customers with no email.
  • The right click menu includes two export options: Export or Export RawExport produces a CSV with "friendly" column names containing customer ID, name, and contact methods (phone/address/email/social).  Export Raw, on the other hand, exports the data row directly from the database with the actual internal column names.
  • You can right click in the list to enable checkboxes so that you can manually select the customers to include from the list.
  • The export will mirror what you see on the screen, meaning if the customer is listed multiple times because they have multiple contacts they will be duplicated in your export.  Use the Preferred checkboxes in Customer Find or the Show Preferred Contact Info Only checkbox at the bottom of the list to limit your list to one row per customer.
