There are four types of service jobs in The Edge: Repairs, Custom Jobs, Special Orders, and Appraisals.
All jobs follow the same basic workflow:
- Intake at POS
- Job completed in back office
- Picked up at POS
System Options
Though not strictly necessary, it is recommended you review the System Options for the job types you will be using.
If there are job types your store will not be utilizing it you can disable their functionality via System Options.
Locations
In addition to being used to track the location of inventory in your store, locations can also be used to track jobs.
You might, for instance, setup locations for bench jewelers, outside repair facilities, vendors, bins, etc. This allows you to monitor the job as it moves through the process. There is also an option that will mark a job as done when it reaches a specific location; this allows you to create a "Done" bin which becomes the last stop. Jobs moved there are marked completed and will then be available for pick up.
