POS (Point of Sale): Verify Other Item Finds at POS

Continue through the checklist by next verifying items at POS by other means than item number.

  Accept

   N/A       Initials

     Item

By vendor style number.

By scanning old barcodes.

Other (if applicable).

Test searching for and selling items at POS using search methods other than item number, as shown in the chart above:

NOTES:

  1. Continuing from POS, select Sell Item.

  2. From the resulting sale line, use the Find Item option.

  3. You will see the Find Items window open on the General tab. To search by Vendor Style, enter your style number into the Style # box.

  4. A window will appear with matching items. Select the correct item to add to the sale by either double clicking on the item line, or by highlighting the record and clicking Select.

  5. To verify by scanning old barcodes, simply click the Sell Item button and scan your item. If successful, you will see your item appear on the sale line. You will be alerted the SKU is not on file if the scan is not successful.

enlightenedAs mentioned, the sale will NOT have sales tax unless you have set up a tax definition, which is not necessary for this test.
