QuickBooks Maintenance - Slow Posting


If you are encountering very slow posting to QuickBooks, there are a couple maintenance options which may help speed up your posting. 

It is important you follow EACH of these steps in the order they appear below:
 

  1. REBUILD THE QB COMPANY FILE:

    • Get everyone out of QB.
    • In QuickBooks:
        Click File > Utilities > Rebuild Data
        Click File > Utilities > Verify Data
     
  2. REBUILD INDEXES IN EDGE:

    • First have everyone close The Edge down.
    • Open The Edge on the server computer only.
    • Click File > Rebuild Indexes.
    • Enter your password and then click Rebuild.
    • Wait for it to complete. It may freeze at times but it is running
       NOTE:  It may present with an error here which you should email to us, it will then continue and complete once the error is closed.

    • The process is done when the DONE button is no longer greyed out.
    • Click Done to close the process and continue using The Edge as normal.
     
  3. In QuickBooks create a new customer, we recommend creating a new customer yearly.
    For example: POS Customer 202X.
     
  4. Once created in QuickBooks, go back to Edge and navigate to Administrative > QuickBooks > Set up Integration - on the customer drop-down click it and select the newly created customer from Step 3, click OK then OK again.
