Bulk Inventory Pricing Methods Overview

The Edge includes five pricing methods, the most common of which is Fine Jewelry, Individual Item Pricing. This method assigns each item a unique SKU, even if that style was previously in inventory. However, it is not appropriate for all types of inventory, particularly those low cost items carried in quantity. For more information see Pricing Methods.

Here's an overview of the four bulk pricing methods:

General Merchandise, UPC/SKU Pricing

Appropriate when an item is carried in quantity & all pieces carry the same cost/price, e.g. charms, batteries, sterling silver bracelets

Buy & Sell Item by Unit of Measure (IUOM)

Appropriate when an item is carried in quantity that includes both a physical count & measure , e.g. melee diamond parcels, especially larger stones (.05 ct and larger) where the stone is sold individually

Buy & Sell by Measure Only (UOM)

Appropriate when an item is tracked only by measure, e.g. gold stock or smaller diamond melee where there is no physical count only a weight

Mixed Retail Pricing (PRE)

Appropriate when an item represents a group of like-items where costs differ but there is a single consistent markup, e.g. watchbands
