Hotfix Release: Edge Version 26.2.8.1006

Version 26.2.8.1006  |  10/6/26

This update supersedes Hotfix 26.2.7.922. It includes the minor enhancements and corrective changes listed below.

26.2 Feature Release NotesSingle Store UpdateMulti-Store Update

IMPORTANT: Upgrading to 26.2 and the New Desktop UI

If you waited to update to Edge version 26.2 until the release of this hotfix, please review the full 26.2 Feature Release Notes before enabling the new Desktop UI.

The new Desktop UI is not enabled automatically when you update and must be manually activated through System Options. Before making the switch, there are important requirements and considerations outlined in the original feature release notes that may affect your store.

In particular, please review the information regarding minimum screen resolution requirements and Memorized Reports. The new Desktop UI has updated resolution requirements, especially when using the Customer POS Display and Point of Sale on Desktop. Additionally, while existing Memorized Reports will remain available, custom report groupings from the previous Desktop will not carry over and may need to be reorganized.

We strongly recommend reviewing the complete 26.2 Feature Release Notes before enabling the new Desktop UI, especially if you are updating directly to this hotfix.

Minor Enhancements

Improved List Printing with Compact Print, Updated Totals, and Formatting Fixes

Print/Export

The Print/Export window now includes a Compact Print option under Show Totals. This option fits more information on each page by printing list rows in a condensed, single-line format in landscape orientation.

Compact Print uses the current column widths and prints columns in the order shown in the Export window, where they can be rearranged as needed. It removes the usual 20-column limit while retaining the standard report header. Your Compact Print selection is saved with your other Export settings. Selecting Load Program Defaults will turn it off.

Totals and formatting have also been improved for both regular and compact printing:

  • Number columns display a sum.
  • Text, date, and yes/no columns display a count.
  • Average-based columns, including ADOH, ADTS, and columns labeled “Avg,” continue to display an average.
  • Totals now appear at the top of the footer beneath their corresponding columns, without a separate “Totals” label.
  • Monetary fields—including Cost, Re-Cost, Retail, and Current on the Item List—now print as currency.
  • Short-date fields now print without the time.

Items Export window with the Show Totals and Compact Print options above the column list

Important: Compact Print includes as many columns as will fit on the page. Once a column does not fit, that column and all columns following it will be omitted.

Wide columns, such as Description or Notes, may be shortened to fit when at least half an inch of space remains on the page. Photos are not included. Column widths are always based on the list’s current layout, even when a saved Export setting is loaded. Columns that are hidden in the list will print at approximately one inch wide.

New Default List View Without Photos

List Views

List views that support images now include a new Detailed List option, which displays a more compact, text-focused list without images and is selected by default. Smaller text and rows allow more items to appear on the screen.

From the search filter, use the View drop-down to choose how images appear in the results. Select one of the photo options to display images in a detailed list or as photo tiles. If you prefer images to appear by default, save your selected view and search criteria as a preset.

On the Items, Appraisal, and Wish Lists, the Photo column can also be shown or hidden through the column settings. If the column is unchecked, it remains hidden in every view. Saved layouts retain this selection, while Program Defaults restores the default settings.

Corrective Changes

22 corrective changes are included in this hotfix.

EDT2 - Double Quotes in Fields Pushing Item Data Around in CSV Row

Bug 10955

When a field contained a single double quote, EDT2 CSV exports shifted the item values out of their columns. EDT2 CSV exports now handle double quotes correctly, such as inch marks in “18" chain” or “7" bracelet”. Before this fix, a quote in an item description, style code, note or other text field could push values into the wrong columns, or cause the website to reject the row. CSV files now follow the CSV standard for quotes so the value shows up exactly as it was entered. JSON and XML exports are not affected.

Rewards Bonus Item List Does Not Appear

Bug 12654

When starting a Rewards Bonus, the list of items matching the selected criteria did not appear, preventing users from selecting items and applying the bonus. In ‘Rewards Program Tiers’, clicking OK after entering bonus criteria in ‘Start Bonus’ now opens the list of matching items again. You can check the items and click OK to apply the bonus, as before.

Total_Notifications_Sent Column Shows 0

Bug 12656

In ‘Services > Service Job Notifications > Resend Notifications’, the ‘Total_Notifications_Sent’ column showed 0 for every result. The column now shows the correct count. ‘Total_Notifications_Sent’ and ‘Notification_Last_Sent’ also refresh right after a notification is selected and sent with ‘Send / Mark Notified’. The main fix for this list is described in BUG 12696.

Start a Sale List View No Longer Showing Photos

Bug 12657

The ‘Image Size’ option was missing from the ‘Start a Sale’ (Inventory > Inventory Management > Item Promotional Sales > Start a Sale) item list and has now been restored. Select a List View to display item photos in the list or a Grid View to display items as photo tiles. Items can be selected for the sale in either view, and the ‘Photo’ column can be hidden through the view settings.

Weekly Schedule Printout Starts on Previous Sunday Instead of Monday

Bug 12669

When the starting week day in the ‘Schedule’ was set to a day other than Sunday, such as Monday, the printed weekly schedule still began on the previous Sunday. New schedule weeks also always started on Sunday. The weekly schedule printout now begins on the starting week day that was set, and runs through the full work week.

Not Able to Email Multiple Emails for Receipts in the Classic UI

Bug 12671

When emailing a receipt, the ‘Customer Email Selection’ window only allowed one email address to be checked at a time. This happened when emailing a receipt from a customer's ‘Activity’ tab with ‘See Sale’, and when emailing a receipt after completing a sale, in both the Classic UI and the New UI. One or more email addresses can now be selected, so the receipt can be sent to multiple recipients at once.

BCC for Receipt Emails Not Sending

Bug 12672

When an email address was entered in the ‘BCC’ field of the receipt email setup, emailed receipts reached the customer but the BCC copy never arrived. Receipt emails now send the BCC copy to the address that was set up.

Services Job List Doesn't Honor Presets When Trying to Print

Bug 12676

When a saved preset was selected on the ‘Services Job List’ and ‘Print/Export’ was clicked, the columns left out of the preset were still selected, so the printed report included every available field. Print/Export now uses the columns from the current view, and the printed report shows only the fields in the selected preset.

Cannot Hide a Favorite if Placed on Main Menu

Bug 12678

A favorite button added to a menu could not be hidden, and it stayed on the menu after Edge was closed and reopened. Favorites added to a desktop menu (for example, a PO Add favorite under Inventory > PO Management) can now be removed. Before this fix, checking ‘Hide’ in a favorite's properties had no effect, and the button stayed on the menu. The only way to get rid of it was to reset the menu to defaults, which also removed every other favorite. Hidden favorites now disappear from the menu. In ‘Menu Management’, you can hide, un-hide, edit or delete individual favorites on any menu, including the main application menus. Built-in Edge menu options still can't be deleted, but they can still be hidden.

Print Invoice Button Missing From Return Memo

Bug 12679

The print buttons were missing from ‘Return Memo’ (Inventory > Vendor Administration > Return Memo), leaving no way to print the list. The ‘Print List’ and ‘Invoice Print’ buttons have been restored.

New Shopify Doesn't Log SKU on Deletion

Bug 12681

When an item was deleted from Shopify through the GraphQL integration, the log recorded only the Shopify product ID and not the Edge SKU. Shopify item delete entries in the Econ log now include the Edge item key (SKU) along with the Shopify product ID, making it easier to trace which item was removed.

Cannot Export Item List With Photos as Grid

Bug 12683

When an item list was set to a Grid View, ‘Print/Export’ printed the items one per line instead of as a photo grid, even with photos included in the column selection. This option was available in earlier versions. Item lists in a Grid View can now be printed as a photo grid again.

Invoice Import Assumes 0 QTY When No Quantity Column Exists

Bug 12684

When using ‘Invoice Import’ on the ‘Receive Invoice’ screen, a file without a quantity column was imported with a quantity of 0 for every row. With ‘Ignore 0 Quantity’ checked, no lines were added to the invoice. The import now uses a quantity of 1 when the file has no quantity column or the column is not mapped. Ignore 0 Quantity now applies only when a quantity column is mapped and a row has a quantity of 0.

Stones Report Not Honoring Stone List in the Classic UI/New UI

Bug 12685

On the ‘Stones Report’ (Reports > Inventory > Stones Report), the ‘Type’ drop-down did not include stone types added to the stone list, such as Lab Grown Diamond, even though those types were available in Item Find and other reports. The Type drop-down now includes user-defined stone types in both the Classic UI and the New UI, so they can be selected when running the report.

Cannot View Photos in List View for Special Orders

Bug 12689

The ‘Special Orders’ list (Services > Find Special Orders) had no way to show special order photos, an option that was available in earlier versions. The Special Orders list has an ‘Image Size’ option to show special order photos in the list or as image tiles.

Can Add Customer Without Requiring ID/Password

Bug 12690

Customers could be added through ‘Customer > Add’ or the ‘New Customer’ button at POS without an associate entering an ID and password. These customers showed as entered by on the Contacts report. Saving a new customer now requires associate credentials when no associate is signed in.

Return Memo Print Invoice Opens in Background

Bug 12691

When printing an invoice from ‘Return Memo’ (Inventory > Vendor Administration > Return Memo), the invoice opened in a background tab behind the list, so it appeared that nothing happened. ‘Invoice Print’ from the Return Memo list now opens the invoice in its own window instead of behind the list.

Ctrl + C on Owner Name on Item Record Causes Search

Bug 12693

Copying a customer's name from the ‘Owner’ field on a consignment item record with a keyboard shortcut acted as if a value had been typed into the field. After clicking outside the field, an empty customer search window opened. Copying a customer name with Ctrl+C or Ctrl+A from a customer field, such as the Owner field on a consignment item, no longer clears the customer or opens an empty customer search window. CTRL+V or pasting a value into the Owner field will still open that search based on Last Name.

Resend Notification Feature Is Including Services Already Picked Up

Bug 12696

The ‘Resend Notifications’ results (Services > Service Job Notifications > Resend Notifications) included services that had already been picked up. ‘Resend Notifications’ no longer lists services that have already been picked up, canceled, or closed. Repair Jobs and Custom Jobs can be searched separately again.

Suggest Button Populates Weight Detail Twice for Item Description in Classic UI/New UI

Bug 12697

When a category had a ‘Weight’ item detail along with Metal Weight and no description template, clicking ‘Suggest’ on the item record could list the weight value twice in some of the suggested descriptions. Suggested descriptions now include the weight only once, in both the Classic UI and the New UI.

Window Menu Options Do Not Arrange Open Windows

Bug 12698

On the classic desktop, selecting Tile Horizontally, Tile Vertically, Cascade, or Arrange Icons from the ‘Window’ menu did not rearrange open windows. These options now work as expected.

Notify List Opened Behind the Overdue Pickups List

Bug 12705

When selecting ‘Notify List’ from an ‘Overdue Pickups’ list, the notification window opened behind the pickup list and could not be accessed until the list was closed. The notification window now opens in front, allowing notifications to be reviewed and resent as expected. This applies to overdue Repair, Custom Job, Special Order, and Appraisal pickups.
