2 November A new version of The Edge is available! November 2, 2026 By Angela Chiaravalle Downloads, Software Hotfix, Download, Update, Software 26.2HOTFIX Hotfix Release: Edge Version 26.2.9.1029 Version 26.2.9.1029 | 11/2/26 This update supersedes Hotfix 26.2.8.1006. It includes the corrective changes listed below. 26.2 Feature Release NotesSingle Store UpdateMulti-Store Update IMPORTANT: Upgrading to 26.2 and the New Desktop UI If you waited to update to Edge version 26.2 until the release of this hotfix, please review the full 26.2 Feature Release Notes before enabling the new Desktop UI. The new Desktop UI is not enabled automatically when you update and must be manually activated through System Options. Before making the switch, there are important requirements and considerations outlined in the original feature release notes that may affect your store. In particular, please review the information regarding minimum screen resolution requirements and Memorized Reports. The new Desktop UI has updated resolution requirements, especially when using the Customer POS Display and Point of Sale on Desktop. Additionally, while existing Memorized Reports will remain available, custom report groupings from the previous Desktop will not carry over and may need to be reorganized. We strongly recommend reviewing the complete 26.2 Feature Release Notes before enabling the new Desktop UI, especially if you are updating directly to this hotfix. Review the Full 26.2 Feature Release Notes Corrective Changes 26 corrective changes are included in this hotfix. Edited List View Not Acknowledging Assortment Order via Edit Mode in the Classic UI Bug 12673 After sorting a job list in the Classic UI, clicking ‘Edit’ and moving to the next or previous job followed the original search results order instead of the sorted order. For example, after sorting the list in ‘Services > Find > Job’, the next job that opened was the next one in the search results, not the next one in the sorted list. Moving between records now follows the order shown in the list. The same fix applies to Appraisals, the ‘Customer Relationships’ list on the customer display, Notes, and records opened from Notifications, including Special Orders, Wish Lists, Jobs and Appraisals. Error Filtering by Jeweler Bug 12713 Filtering by a specific jeweler in ‘Services > Find > Job’ returned an “Invalid column name 'rtwho'” error when the search ran. The same error appeared when filtering by jeweler on the ‘Amount Due’ and ‘Due Date Detailed’ reports. Searches and reports filtered by jeweler now run without the error. Error Using See Sale from Service Modify Bug 12718 When picking up a service at POS with ‘Pick Up/Finish’, clicking ‘Modify’ to view the job record and then clicking ‘See Sale’ caused a “Conversion from type 'DBNull' to type 'String' is not valid” error. ‘See Sale’ now opens the sale ticket from the job record without the error. Full Add and Fast Add Do Not Function the Same Way on the Company Name Field Bug 12721 When adding a customer, ‘Full Add’ and ‘Fast Add’ handled the ‘Company Name’ field differently. ‘Full Add’ saved a company name without the company checkbox being checked, but ‘Fast Add’ would not save the customer when a company name was entered unless the checkbox was checked. ‘Fast Add’ now works the same way as ‘Full Add’, and the customer saves with the company name entered. Deleted Tasks Showing on Tasks Report Bug 12722 Deleted tasks appeared on the ‘Tasks’ report when the status they had before being deleted matched the report filter. For example, a task deleted while still set to Not Started showed on a report filtered for Not Started tasks. Deleted tasks are now left off the ‘Tasks’ report. Acquisition Column Excluded from Automated Customer Simple List Report Bug 12725 When a memorized customer ‘Simple List’ report with “Acquisition” selected in the ‘Group/Sort By’ box was automated to save as a CSV or Excel file, the saved file did not include the Acquisition column. The column appeared only when the report was run manually and exported from the report display. Automated CSV and Excel files now include the Acquisition column. Multi-Store - Repair Shows as Adjusted After Closing at Another Location Bug 12726 In a multi-store setup where locations use different tax definitions, opening a picked-up repair record at a different location from where it was picked up recalculated the tax using that location's tax definition. Clicking ‘OK Save & Close’ then saved the new tax, total and amount due, and the list view showed the job as adjusted even though no changes were made. Opening and closing a picked-up repair at another location no longer changes these values or marks the job as adjusted. Consumed In/Inventory Report Not Showing Customer for Consumed Items Bug 12729 When the ‘Consumed in Jobs’ report or the ‘Inventory’ report was grouped by Customer, items consumed into Custom, Repair, Assembled or Built Jobs all appeared under No Customer, even when the job was on a customer's account. Consumed items in jobs that have been sold now show under the correct customer. Items in jobs that have not been sold still show under No Customer. Typo in Analysis Reports Bug 12731 “Analysis” was misspelled as “Anaylsis” in some report titles. The spelling is now corrected on the ‘Sales Analysis By Retail Price’, ‘Sales Analysis By Retail Cost’, ‘Vendor Style Analysis’ and ‘By Acquisition’ reports. Long Service Description Increases Description Column Width Without Cutoff Bug 12734 In the job list opened from ‘Services > Find’, the ‘Description’ column stretched to fit the full text of a long service description, pushing the other columns over. Resizing the column manually only lasted until a new job list was opened. The ‘Description’ column now keeps its width and no longer stretches for long descriptions. Cannot Select More Than 1 Email Address on Job Task Sheet Bug 12735 When emailing a job task sheet for a customer with multiple email addresses, the email selection window only allowed one address to be checked at a time. This happened when clicking ‘Email’ on the print preview opened from ‘Save & Print > Job Details’ on the job record. One or more email addresses can now be selected, so the job task sheet can be sent to multiple recipients at once. Photos Given Wrong Path When Importing Invoice Items Bug 12738 When importing items from an Excel invoice with ‘Invoice Import’ (Inventory > Items > Add > Rcv Invoice), each item's photo was linked to the local folder it was imported from instead of the photo directory set in the Edge configuration. The photos were never placed in the photo directory on the server, so the item records did not look for them there. Imported photos are now copied into the Edge photo directory and renamed to the item number when the item is created, and the item records link to them in that location. Numeric Columns Not Sorting Correctly in Item List Bug 12739 In the item list opened from ‘Inventory > Find Items’, sorting by numeric columns such as ‘Metal Weight’, ‘Size’ and ‘Qty’ put the values in alphabetical order instead of numeric order. Numeric columns now sort by number. Multi-Store - Deleted Time Card Entries Not Syncing to Other Stores Bug 12743 Deleting a time card entry with the ‘Delete’ button in ‘Associates > Time Card > Find’ removed the entry from the database completely. In a multi-store setup, the deletion did not sync to the other stores, so the entry still appeared there. Deleted time card entries are now marked as voided instead of removed, so the change syncs to every store. Line Selection in Details Window for Appraisal Not Honored on First Click Bug 12744 In the ‘Details’ window of an appraisal, clicking a line to select it for deleting or moving often did not highlight it. The line had to be clicked several times before it was selected, especially when the appraisal had multiple lines. Clicking a line now selects it on the first click. Showing Image/Description on Service Payments Error with Appraisal Payments Bug 12745 When ‘Add Image and Description to Layaway and Service Payments’ was turned on in ‘System Options > Receipt Options’, making a payment on or picking up an appraisal that was not the first line of its intake sale treated it as the first line. The receipt showed the wrong appraisal image, or an “Index was out of range” error appeared and the receipt was missing the payment and tender details. The receipt now shows the image and description for the correct appraisal. Overview Report by Period Is Adding Repair Cost Returns Instead of Subtracting Bug 12746 On the ‘Overview Report by Period’, the cost of a returned repair was added to the ‘Total Net’ in the Repair section instead of subtracted. The return appeared correctly under Returns, but the total went up instead of down. Returned repair costs are now subtracted from the total, the same way returned items are. Frequently Sold SKUs No Longer in Picture View by Default Bug 12748 The ‘Frequently Sold’ list at POS (Sell Item > Find/New > Frequently Sold) opened in List View Small instead of Grid View Small as it did in earlier versions. The view could be changed from the drop-down after the list opened, but it went back to List View Small every time. The ‘Frequently Sold’ list now opens in Grid View Small by default. Adding Customer Outside of POS Is Using POS Requirements with No Bypass Bug 12751 When ‘Require Address’, ‘Require Phone Number’ or ‘Require Email when entering New Customer’ was turned on in ‘System Options > POS Options’, adding a customer outside of POS with ‘Customer > Add’ enforced the same requirements with no way to bypass them. The customer could not be saved with only a first and last name. These requirements now apply to customer adds both inside and outside of POS, and a ‘Supervisor Override’ can bypass them. Printing Receipt Without Preview Ignoring "Balance on Repair Env" Bug 12752 When ‘Receipt Preview’ was turned off in System Options, a receipt printed with a repair envelope did not show the repair balance on the envelope. This happened even with ‘Show Balances on Receipts’, ‘Print Balance Due on Repair/Job Envelopes’ and ‘Balance on Repair Env’ all turned on. The balance only appeared when the receipt was opened again from the ‘Receipts’ button at POS or the customer's ‘Activity’ tab. Envelopes printed without a preview now include the repair balance. Company Name Shows in POS Instead of Customer Name Without Company Account Checked Bug 12754 When ‘Fast Customer Find Return Options’ was set to “couple_names” in System Options, a customer with anything entered in the ‘Company’ field showed the company name instead of the customer's name at the top left of the POS screen and on the receipt. This happened even when ‘Company Account’ was not checked on the customer record. The company name now shows only when the ‘Company’ field is filled in and ‘Company Account’ is checked. Using OAuth in Classic UI Throws an Error Bug 12759 When setting up an Outlook email account with OAuth in ‘Administrative > Email Settings’ in the Classic UI, signing in succeeded but ‘Test Connection’ failed with a 535 error. Microsoft requires the account's sign-in login rather than its primary email address, which caused the test to fail. The connection test now succeeds after signing in with OAuth. Sales Tax Report Displaying Incorrect Tax Total for Other Bug 12762 When the ‘Sales Tax’ report was run with trades shown in their own section, the totals row could show the sales amount in the ‘Other’ column instead of the tax amount. The grand total summary now shows the correct tax amount for ‘Other’. Error Deselecting Inactive Associate on Sold with Returns Report Bug 12764 On the ‘Inventory Sold with Returns’ report, deselecting an inactive associate from the ‘Sold By’ drop-down on the ‘Type & Status’ tab caused an “Invalid column name 'saKey'” error. The report now runs without the error when an inactive associate is deselected. Merge on Customer Add Error Bug 12766 When adding a new customer whose name and address matched an existing customer, selecting the match to merge the records and then clicking ‘Take’ on any detail, such as the name or birthday, caused an “Object reference not set to an instance of an object” error. This happened when the existing customer had no linked spouse record. Details can now be taken in the merge window whether or not the existing customer has a spouse record. Commission Report Excluding Joined Item If It Includes Custom Job Pickup Bug 12770 When a custom job's custom item was joined with a layaway item at pickup using ‘More > Join’ and a care plan was added, the ‘Commission’ report left out the custom job and custom item completely. Only the care plan for the joined item appeared, under the warranty section, so no commission was shown for the custom job. The custom job now appears on the ‘Commission’ report when its item is joined with a layaway and a care plan. Related Articles 4 September A new version of The Edge is available!
